Colonel Cormack Recreation Centre – Lakeland College in Vermillion, Alberta

Lakeland College ventilation upgrade at the Vermilion Campus Colonel Cormack Recreation Centre.  This project was designed around improving performances of the mechanical system and reducing system deficiencies.  Systemair’s Roof Top Energy Recovery Unit (3200 RTU) was chosen to retrofit and exemplify the upgrades chosen by the consulting engineer. The ERV RT-EC comes equipped with an Adsorption type TOTAL energy recovery wheel, ECM fans, double wall cabinets, economizer function. Pull-pull configuration and allows Airflows up to 4,600 cfm.

Sterling Place in Edmonton, Alberta

Meadowlark School in Edmonton Alberta

Four existing air handler units were removed and replaced with 4 custom Ventrol Air Handling Units. Due to the tight constraints of working with an existing building, Aqua Air supplied 4 knockdown units which were able to fit through a standard doorway, allowing the units to be assembled in the space without additional demolition of walls/doors.

The 2 units located in the upper mechanical room were constructed of lightweight aluminum to reduce due to the weight restrictions set out by the structural engineer

MacEwan University – Cooling Coil Replacement in Edmonton Alberta

The cooling coils in the existing air handlers at MacEwan University were nearing the end of their life and with all the constant leaks and maintenance required, they decided to replace them.

Aqua Air supplied 69 brand new custom cooling coils which were field measured, confirmed, and supplied over the course of a year. Aqua Air helped deliver the coils in stages in order to maximize an efficient install, building by building, while avoiding interference with on-going classes, parking, and the buildings heating/cooling needs

Calgary Airport – International Expansion in Calgary Alberta

In 2016, the Calgary International Airport (YYC), opened their new International Terminal, which was part of a $2 billion Airport Development Program. The new International Terminal adds approximately two million square feet, and includes the use of 581 geothermal wells and a double façade with automated louvers and blinds. 40 Huntair Custom Air Handling Units with FANWALL® were supplied for the new terminal, and the all of the existing air handling units in the original terminal have been retrofitted with FANWALL®  as well.

Bloom Cultivation in Calgary Alberta

Bloom Cultivation is a cannabis production facility in Calgary sized at over 40,000 sq. ft. Aqua Air installed over 30 tracking pair phoenix valves and pressure monitors for room pressurization control of all grow rooms, clone rooms, flower rooms and entrances. SSE Block E Renovation University of Calgary, in Calgary Alberta

The Schulich School of Engineering Block E was first constructed in 1964 and was the first of the blocks to be opened at the school. 54 years later, it was decided the block was due for a renovation, and mechanical design work was initiated in the summer of 2018. Aqua Air Systems scope of the job involved the design and delivery of a 45,000CFM stacked Energy Recovery Air Handling Unit, complete with supply/return fanwalls, hydronic cooling/heating coils, filters, and space for a future humidifer. The energy recovery device used on the job was a vertically stacked heat pipe, which uses a passive refrigerant cycle to transfer sensible heat between the exhaust and supply stream at an efficiency of 62%.
